ChubbSafes Fire Endurance Tests

Fire Protection Testing

ChubbSafes products are tested for fire endurance for allocated time periods of 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. The longer
the period in minutes, the greater the fire resistance offered.

Fire testing varies according to whether you want to protect documents (paper records) data or diskette
media. This is because the temperature at which documents, data or diskette media deteriorate, differs.

Documents Testing

The critical temperature before paper documents combust is 177°C.

Data Media Testing

Data Media such as CD / DVD USB Sticks spoils at temperatures over 65°C.

Diskette Media Testing

Magnetic strips corrupts at a temperature of 52°C or humidity over 85%.

Choosing a Chubb safe with a fire test certificate from a recognised testing authority ensures you're getting the best
fire protection available.
